Posmec is a symposium that serves as a platform for the discussion of ongoing research and future trends within the framework of the Postgraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Uberlândia. Originating in 1986 under the name SEMEC, the event has evolved through seven editions under this title. In 1997, it underwent a name change to Posmec.

The primary objective of Posmec is to enhance participants’ understanding of the research activities across various Program lines. By fostering closer collaboration between students and professors, Posmec aims to promote synergy and joint efforts among diverse research groups, significantly contributing to the fortification of the Postgraduate Program.
